The OrderOne Networks routing protocol allows each node to attach location or status information to its route entry and have this information spread through the network.
This capability can be used to support real time location information, or provide data on the current capabilities of each device in the network to every device in the network. The type and quantity of information can be determined by the integrator.
There is no need for a central database. This information is carried and managed in the same way that the routing information is managed.
One common use for this capability is to store the current GPS location of each node in the network. This location information is then made available to every node in the network allowing a completely decentralized blue force tracking capability from any node in the network.
Below is a screen shot of an application using this capability.
